One of the premier dream pop albums, Lazer Guided Melodies is both beautiful and innovative.

There's awesome, cool dignity here, a depth and scope far beyond rock's normal parameters, and an abiding faith in the redemptive power of music which can embrace both consoling murmurs and euphoric surges.

On their debut, Spiritualized seemed to emerge from the ether perfectly realized, creating rock music that was serene, spaced-out, and untroubled.

Although, not on the same level as Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, Lazer Guided Melodies is still a great debut by the Neo-Psychedelia / Space Rock band, with some truly impressive moments which can be found on Angel Sigh, Shine a Light and the opening track and with a strong consistent track list which keeps me engage fully throughout the hour run time for a soothing ethereal experience.

Turing test is passed every day. The threshold is when trust in the alternate as person, not computer, is to any degree suspect by default. Then the foundation crumbles. Same as deepfakery erodes the media-as-record, turmite proliferation undermines the virtual social contract.

Spiritualized #1

Lilting, gentle, melodic, intricate, wandering, textured, spacey. But I guess I din't rally know what that means any more. This is a classic too many. Like so many albums from 1992, its debut of a band that would go onto have a long and storied career and i feel like this album is a good foundation. Best tracks: If I were Her Now, Shine a Light
