The Storm

Though I haven't been quite caught up on recent music by FPPEHT, I do remember loving their EP, Winter Break, last year! This album has been an immense step up since then, and I loved the longer cuts here! The instrumentation is so strong, and I felt the emotion conveyed in the voice of the vocalist. Five Point Palm's debut album! The band @Snowyfighter plays lead guitar in, and whose 2nd EP I was really really impressed by and I've been looking forward to this ever since. Guitar work is fantastic, drums are pretty good, loved the occasional use of what I believe was a chello? And the vocals I liked a lot in the first 2 tracks then they swapped between a spoken word and death metal screamo delivery for the rest of the album, neither I was a terribly huge fan of.

SnowyFighter is my goat aoty user and this album was very epic, insane variety within every track. Wallcrawler might be my favorite song here, I was surprised to see it so low

I'm late as fuck, but better late than never.

For a debut album, this is really well done. The whole band has solid chemistry; The intense instrumentals mixed with the slightly washed-out production gives it a dark and hazy atmosphere that actually fits the album cover pretty well. The vocals are a bit hit or miss for me. Sometimes they feel a bit awkward, but when they hit, they fuckin hit.
