While Johnny and his brother Dorsey Burnette lived in the same neighborhood as Elvis Presley when they were kids, Johnny was basically predestined for an athletic career as a boxer, but after a few defeats he gave up. It was in music that he found a second wind when he and his brother Dorsey decided to form in 1952 a first group "Rhythm Rangers" with also Paul Burlison.

The debut album from Johnny Brunette & The Rock 'n Roll Trio is 26 minutes of very fun yet quite inoffensive rockabilly music. It doesn't do much to blow me away but it's hard to deny how infectious a lot of these tracks are and how charismatic Johnny Burnette's performances are.
