Plot twist: Diplo’s star-studded new EP will not make you twerk, but it might make you cry.
This time around, Diplo blended in as opposed to standing out.
If this is what Diplo imagines intercontinentally-successful pop sounds like in 2018, then no wonder he thinks it’s a pile of garbage.
Diplo is criminally under appreciated. And in defense of the features, its clear artists like Desiigner, Yachty and Lil Xan can be used effectively in moderation.
Great EP that puts the featured artists over beats that they aren't used to. Aside from Lil Xan, all of the features were satisfying for me and made for a very enjoyable set of songs.
Diplo recognizes the full potential of some artists, which hadn't been previously tapped into yet. Who would have thought Lil Xan could produce something of substance? Apparently Diplo did.
I did not expect much from this at all, as I don't like most songs produced by Diplo, and almost all of the featured rappers on here I know little about or don't like. Surprisingly, every rapper on here performs at their best and Diplo's production, whilst a bit generic, is really good.
Had some decent collabs. Was really surprised by the DRAM song. Also gotta shout out Santigold.
This is Diplo's version of a 'Funk Wav Bounces'. The result are pretty mixed, as I find 'Suicidal' unlistenable and some songs here just average.
The production isn't all that special, but it's tight and has a clear summer vibe to it. The most interesting instrumental here has to be 'Color Blind' with it's loud looping sounds, it has an EDM flavor.
