At last, they created the concrete funky-soul they always wanted, conscious, euphoric and so skillfully orchestrated and produced that no backstabber could ever hurt them.
Growing up, I remember listening to little other than soul and R&B music, so The O'Jays' "Back Stabbers" hits a deep chord with me. Even though I didn't realize that the songs I knew from this album, like "Back Stabbers" and "Love Train" were from The O'Jays, I've heard them so much over the years that they're ingrained into my brain.
