Combining live tracks and studio recordings in a method deemed befit "mad scientists" by Bill Kreutzmann, Anthem of the Sun is the very soul of experimental. It's certainly psychedelic, and not the type of psychedelic that is intended for sober listening, if there is such a thing. But all the while, it jams.
