This is a very different Michael Jackson album one of which that incorporates far more elements of the coming R&B wave as compared to his pop-heavy albums prior. There appears to be far more substance on this record, but coming with it a little less bite. Jackson doesn't abandon his previous attitude completely, but seems to check it at the door for more focused and introspective songwriting, and more meaning. This album is really bad and a downward slope of Michael Jackson's career. Hoping on the new-jack swing, for once in Michael Jackson career, he wasn't pushing boundaries but instead joining on the new wave at that time. I still think Quincy jones was a huge factor in driving Michael's Jackson music and you can tell the difference on here. I will keep my POV and say this is very overrated, i keep feeling like this transition affected MJ's career ALOT, and made it difficult for him to keep relevance and successful records and singles, in this album he transitioned into pop-R&B and i dont feel like the genre he goes by on this project suits well his vocals and voice ability, basically making him waste his strenghts, this is the fall off of Micheal Jackson. I never fully connected with “Dangerous” because of its lack of memorable songs and fully-formulaic pattern of pop tropes.
