I knew the name Muddy Waters but had never delved into his work. This album was the start of his career and with which he put his name on the map.

Muddy Waters' debut is sadly very overshadowed by its predecessor, Folk Singer, which is a shame because this debut is constitently enjoyable Chicago blues with very impressive vocals. The main problem i can see people having with this record is that the instrumentals are quite stereotypical and stripped back but i don't find this issue to be too damaging as Muddy Waters vocal usually carries my experience and enjoyment of this record
