Impressed by Carla's increasing ambition towards drone-based atmospheres and free-form soundscapes, almost veering into modern classical territory. Her aesthetic POV still seems mostly based around her earlier traits as a singer/songwriter so I can't say that I'm entirely convinced by the execution of these pieces. Doesn't explore deep enough into the avant-garde spectrum. End of the World, the most traditional-sounding piece on here, is an absolute showstopper with Marc Ribot's jazz stylings ... read more

Starts poetic and immersive, then just water downs to throwing ideas on a wall and seeing what sticks. Promising album for what's to come.
