On this album, their debut and the first of the two self-titled albums they would release (back to back as well, sheesh), The House Of Love have sound wise much more in common with shoegaze than with alt rock, a direction they would go into more later. This is mainly notable on the tracks Christine, which seems to have become a mild classic of sorts in indie circles, and the song Love In A Car.
