Milk Carton Kids make undeniably pretty music, and “All The Things I Did” moves them into prettier territory; whereas their earlier work was more somber and guitar-based, “All The Things” is firmly major key, with tasteful, more fleshed-out accompaniment. It actually sounds a lot more like Simon & Garfunkel than Americana. But there’s not nearly enough going on lyrically to sustain the 51-minute long album. Some of the best folk tunes on this one. Closing track is so beautiful.

Absolutely love the first 3 MCK albums. They return here after a few years with a refined sound, but not for the better. Pretty much gone are the finger picking melodies & are replaced by strumming with a minimal electric slide guitar. Very mediocre southern folk sound here.
