With their chaotic and eratic punk sensibilities somewhat fading away, new guitarist Brix Smith is credited for introducing a refreshing yet clean mainstream sound to the band in certain tracks. Few are quite derivative of typical jangle pop at the time, while still grasping at a noisier garage imitation, alongside typical ritualistic drumming and vocals.
