"Avant-garde jazz" is not what I'd call this. The jazz here is bare in some ways and is like it is attempting a concept while falling on its own shoestrings in an attempt to do so.

Matana Roberts continues her Coin Coin series after the well acomplished and intriguing first chapter, that made a distinct and vivid reference to the slavery years of black people in America.
