Robbie can definitely create some great music, he has a perfect voice for the indie genre and has a clear understanding of what his fans want. For me Cavetown has always had songs that I love but whenever I've sat down to listen to an album by him it has never really held up to my expectations. 16/ 04/ 16 was a pleasant surprise.
The production on this album is brilliant and even for my least favourites on the album that remained a highlight. (analbumaday day 106) I've always wanted to get into Cavetown, but every time I try I'm not very impressed. Robbie is not a horrible musician and he's obviously doing something right as he is a staple of the indie rock music scene, but his work and this album as a result fail to impress me.
