Out Of Control is, generally, yet another excellent album from a group who may have risen from a lot of people’s ‘guilty pleasure’ to becoming full-on national treasures.
Their best albums are like piñatas: crack them open and surprising goodies spilled out. Out of Control is more of a lucky dip, with scintillating trinkets and humdrum knick-knacks.
Frankly, Out of Control seems a singularly inapt title for an album of such meekly conformist pop.
Out of Control is more traditional pop than Tangled Up but it works. Even though some tracks are just there, others are fantastic and overall make this album still a solid pop record. Untouchable is absolute magic and one of their best songs while The Promise is so different from anything they've ever done and has fantastic production and vocals (especially from Sarah). One thing I commend is that it's different from anything they've ever done before, especially production wise.
