All these rock signifiers are in service to an album that is otherwise adult alternative easy listening. This isn't a wild leap for a band fronted by a singer who gained his fame on a televised singing competition and, in a way, this is a comfortable place for Daughtry to be.

The Independent

There’s so little differentiation from the basic song structure (verse/pre-chorus/chorus/repeat) that each track unintentionally become bogged down by repetition. I found myself switching off, shocking myself when I realised that the song had actually changed.

I think Daughtry is the only band I've seen where I'm convinced they have literally no talent. Do they enjoy making this?

The lastest Daughtry album is a collection of some of the most cliche rock you’ll hear paired with overly dramatic, try-hard vocals. Over the past couple of years this band has failed to do anything even remotely interesting and the songs that they come out with are almost indistinguishable. Lyrically, Chris somehow writes songs that are about something and yet nothing at the same time due to how cliche and predictable they are.
