Drowned in Sound

Despite a few duds, Politics of Living gets a thumbs up overall, although I can’t help but feel that the album would sound better in a pared down setting, without the obtrusive studio interference.

God Is in the TV

While this is an admirable attempt at turning over a new leaf, Kodaline have thrown themselves into the pop landfill. There’s nothing particularly wrong with this album but it does absolutely nothing new.

I was a fan of Kodaline's very sincere debut album, and although there was some great tracks, I was generally indifferent towards their sophomore effort. Politics Of Living sadly sees Kodaline continuing their down-spiralling. Even with the production being more interesting than ever, Kodaline seems scarily close to being a mixture of Train and Imagine Dragons.
