Fav tracks: Miles, Miles, Miles Wild Side, Harlem River, If You Leave and If You Marry, The Dead They Don't Come Back
With breathy sing-speak vocals, an airy recording style, and plucky clean electric guitars; Kevin Morby sounds like an artist from another era. Songs that meander for 4-5 minutes and instruments like tambourines, wood blocks, and a bit of pipe organ give this album a very 60's psychedelic feel. This is most easily heard on the title track "Harlem River". That song is oddly followed by a very Singer-Songwriter tune called "If You Leave and If You Marry". I do really like ... read more
