I really liked this. It's not particularly wowing, but she has actual substance in there. Talia, Holy, and Upper West Side are really nice. 1950 and Make My Bed aren't as much, but they're okay. I think what she struggles with is making her own identity rather than just following in the footsteps of the Lordes and Troye Sivans of today. A bit more experimentation, basically.

I realized that the reason I feel so disappointed by this EP, despite it being the artist's first, is that the aesthetic of the visuals are so amazing, but the music itself is only average.
Once I looked at it more objectively I realized there was something there, but not too much. This EP is pretty by the numbers. King Princess shows promising vocals, but is drowned out by the simplicity and lack of experimentation. I felt like I have heard each one of these songs somewhere else, rather than ... read more
