On a debut EP that occupies a space between the cathartic stadium pop of fun. and the vulnerability of Lorde, the young singer-producer offers the kind of love songs generations of queer kids craved.

Sounds like the perfect soundtrack to a coming of age teen drama series. Take that as you will.
Cute, short and (not really) straight to the point.
Lorde + Halsey = King princess
I really liked this. It's not particularly wowing, but she has actual substance in there. Talia, Holy, and Upper West Side are really nice. 1950 and Make My Bed aren't as much, but they're okay. I think what she struggles with is making her own identity rather than just following in the footsteps of the Lordes and Troye Sivans of today. A bit more experimentation, basically.
I realized that the reason I feel so disappointed by this EP, despite it being the artist's first, is that the aesthetic of the visuals are so amazing, but the music itself is only average.
Once I looked at it more objectively I realized there was something there, but not too much. This EP is pretty by the numbers.
