The 405

Going from confrontational to blissfully ecstatic at the drop of a hat, SQUARE UP proves BLACKPINK's mettle in the growing battle for attention in the latest K-pop boom.

Can someone tell me what makes Blackpink so interesting in general? Because I don't get it and I would like to know why y'all love them so much.

As much as I like this more than I did their most recent project, it’s still not as unique as I would want it to be. It’s very immature and the production once again is generic and bland. There’s nothing special about the EDM drops, they just make the songs sound less original to me. Square Up might not be there yet, and it’s definitely not the “revolution” they keep promising but it’s not terrible.

Blackpink is known for going a bit over the top, but when it comes to presenting bright personalities, their music style could work. While this "mini album" (which is just a euphemism for being too lazy and making an EP instead of an LP) has shining moments in tracks like Really and See U Later, there are also some low points and inconsistency within a song. Still way better than that boring collab with Dua LIpa that they just did recently ig.

As quatro faixas são diferentes uma das outras, gostei principalmente disso porque o EP é realmente muito bom.
