The Skinny

The album is steeped in Americana and is a heady mix of dark country and dream-pop which wouldn't be out of place on the soundtrack for David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.

Under The Radar

Slow Air is an excellent, if not totally innovative, album of crafty atmospheric dream-pop that is rich and full and can be enjoyed at low volume as soothing morning music or as engaging rock music blasted at full volume.

Even with a more stripped-back approach, Slow Air doesn't feel any less absorbing.

Loud and Quiet
There’s some classic, soul-searching desert songwriting going on, but a drastic shift in location hasn’t resulted in a wholesale change in sound.
Swerving back and forth between the lanes of psychedelic road rock and dream pop, the album never reaches its intended destination. However, while directionless, the journey still uncovers beautiful moments.
The 405

While the atmosphere of Slow Air enthralls with captivating layers of sedated synth and breathtaking reverb, the stunning production quality can’t save Still Corners from sinking into the increasingly crowded waters of the dream pop scene.

Drowned in Sound

Safe they remain for Slow Air - with the same airbrushed slick of 2016’s Dead Blue, Greg Hughes and Tessa Murray pare back the fog machines and phone in a mostly forgettable series of pleasant enough new wave, as distant and vague as the storybook rainforest on the cover.

Urban Outfitters just found a new band to play over the intercom!
Solid album, Critic ratings are BS. Used to like AOTY to find up and coming artists using their ratings system but the past couple of years they've been way off. It's sad when youtube can recommend better music than a site that is supposed to specialize in that aspect. Not AOTY's fault but these critics are smoking crack with some of their reviews.
