Very simple for a band as creative as Mastodon, but still enjoyable.

Favorite Track: March Of The Fire Ants

Least Favorite Track: Burning Man
Mastodon are one of very few artists who's music sounds exactly like their name, like a herd of prehistoric elephants stampeding, like an earthquake right under your feet, like thunder coming out of the ground.

Remission is a near perfect example of Sludge-Metal, with its caustic tone, like a creature screaming for its life trying to escape a swamp, but is constantly being dragged under, into the murky, dark soup.

I seriously adore this album. If it wasn't for the fact that this record is their most abrasive, hard-hitting and earth shattering listen yet, even as their debut, then the musicianship is what does it for me. Listening to this thing high made it click in ways never before. Every riff on this album is meant for pure brutality and rawness that you just don't get in music anymore. Not to mention March of the fire ants
