The version of "Fallen" on this remix EP may be one of my favourite pieces this year, despite disliking the female recording vocal in the intro and the outro verse (which is honestly only because it deviates from the 5minute unbroken flow of "Fallen").

It's the tone of this track, exactly the kind of thing I've had on repeat when those 4am sleepless nights/mornings invade, this to me, joins the ranks of some of those truly ethereal tracks, putting this next to say Thom ... read more

Interesting artistic choice for Jaden and one that I totally respect. Kid Cudi is a clear influence here but I can also hear elements of Brockhampton and Frank Ocean. Though it is not as refined as it could be, it gives me hope for the kid. Maybe someday in the future Jaden can channel his influences into a more mature, less generic project. Until then I hope he keeps experimenting and just doing his thing.

This is a wild step forward for Jaden. I was completely underwhelmed by Syre, so seeing him come back with 5 completely redone intrigued me, as it’s something I haven’t really see anyone do before. And he delivered on some amazing vibes here. However, that’s also the EP’s biggest weakness. Because of this vibey attitude, the EP loses a lot of potential in terms of melodies.
