This is an extremely difficult recording to absorb and appreciate, one that will require many, many listenings to decipher. But when understood (even partially), it yields enormous rewards.
Even taking into account its unusually mundane title, I could never shake the feeling that I was hearing an almost literal translation of natural ambience on Good Morning Good Night.

A lot of people describe this (and other onkyo albums) as eerie or scary — honestly, I don't see it. I've always found this music very soothing and tranquil. To me, onkyo (and a lot of EAI) strikes a really unique balance between the mechanical and the intimate — the sound of this music feels very mechanized; in a way, it's very impersonal and alien.
