These are serious musicians, great songwriters and subtle arrangers, and they've made a classic pop record that deserves play by anyone who recognizes that songs don't need to make the most noise or be the shiniest new thing to have an impact in the emotional life of the listener.

Somehow it manages to project both a distant sadness and cling to hope and happiness. It’s quite the undertaking for a rather understated dream pop album.

In many ways, Siesta is so unassuming, that it needs to be taken in slowly and carefully. You don’t need to sit with this record intently to appreciate its charm, but repeat listens reveal the album’s subtle details.

Really wish critics would stop praising this basic bitch bullshit.

It's a cute, wavvy frangence you often find on most dream pop artists, but with this one, Hater, manages to paint a still moment of soft hope and special feels.

Though maybe not as striking as some of the best tracks from contemporaries such as Alvvays or Japanese Breakfast, the new Hater record reminds of the highly overlooked Memoryhouse in just how consistent it is. It never dulls throughout and very subtly wraps you around it's finger. It's breezy and tender and is their best effort yet. It will probably be forgotten in a month or so but it's a shame as this is one of the years strongest indie rock albums.
