XXL

Indulgent, polished and deeply personal, Trippie Redd’s debut studio is a course correction. Life’s a Trip succeeds by placing Redd’s narrative at its core and leaning into the inventive melodies that initially put the young rapper on the map.

HipHopDX

Trippie’s experimentations and genre-blending on Life’s a Trip has to be appreciated (seeing as it eventually will breed a better-rounded artist).

Pitchfork

Life’s a Trip is stuffed with forced production choices that impair Trippie’s over-the-top voice from hitting all of its quirks. It’s clear Trippie needs more time to develop his sound and iron out a direction that doesn’t feel like a detour.

Life's a Trip has some surprisingly beautiful highlights, but Trippie Redd's lyrics, song structures, and vocal consistency are still lacking overall.

wow I hate his voice

fave tracks: Taking A Walk is actually good though! Hopefully, he keeps growing as an artist. Others highlights? include BANG, UKA UKA & Oomps Revenge

LIFE'S A TRIP offers a coherent collection varying from emotional downbeat rhythms to high ... read more

Although his voice can get old & partially straining to the ears at times, it's not bad actually. That album cover is amazing tho, damn.
