“Through the Windowpane” is entirely too much, and that’s entirely the point. Guillemots crafts intense, overwhelming chamber pop-inflected indie rock with sweeping, world-conquering arrangements, over which vocalist Fyfe Dangerfield spends most of his time dialed up to 11. The catch is that, corny as “Through the Windowpane” can be, it actually makes a great pop record.
