If Thrice has become anything, it is consistent. This album continues down the path they have paved over the last decade or so, abandoning their emo-esque style for a more alternative rock sound that is likely easier for the mainstream listener to take in. This has its perks, as the groups mainstream success has blossomed from their last three or so records, but it also has led down a path in which the group has stopped growing and will perhaps never release an album that truly inspires the ... read more
There's a line between experimentation and feeling like a U2 worn out album. There's some good, emotional genre-breaking tracks here and then, but much of it feels forced and jaded.
