The Line of Best Fit

Ultimately, Re:member succeeds through the brilliance of its composer’s craftsmanship. The technological advances incorporated are, if not incidental, then very much secondary to an outstandingly humane creativity so consistently in evidence here.

On re:member, Ólafur Arnalds takes a particularly delicate hand in assembling the sounds of live and computer-borne instruments, and the result is seamless.

Northern Transmissions

A record comprised of cinematic wisps tenuously grasping the bittersweet dreaminess of nostalgia, gazing out the window as your memories wash away in trickles of rain.

Rolling Stone

The programmed and the human come together on an album that combines 20th Century composition and futurist electronics.

Really very good indeed. First two pre-released tracks are a bit addictive, with Saman changing the pace completely, Brot is gorgeous with pointillist string textures. Each track from afterwards has its own identity and adds another interesting path to the journey, but Ypsilon is, for me, the understated, slow-burning star of the album.
really catchy slow building ambient'ish electronica. Can't understanding why the average rating is so low!
not as good as his previous albums..
