The Sects go for a slower, more melodic approach to their industrial sound. While the melodic part is well-executed and there are some awesome highlights with amazing songwriting, the album... it just feels too slow. It's 33 minutes, but it feels like more due to how dull it kinda sounds. The mixing is also off with the vocals being in the forefront and the drums sounding so washed-out.

Many of the songs have this strange void present that needs to be filled with more of the aggression, rage and punch of their previous record.
Street Sects takes the more accessible melodic sounds of their 2017 EP Rat Jacket and the great production of their first album End Position to create the more melodic yet gloriously noisy The Kicking Mule.
