If Lester Young is a jazz legend, notably because of his performances and compositions, but also because he was an excellent saxophone tenor who had the characteristic of being super relaxed which softened his playing, he went up and down as much before his first album as a leader. He worked a lot for Count Basie, but also with the singers Billie Holiday or Nat King Cole. Pure, simple, clean jazz. Exceptional and insulting that Young doesn't get more attention.


I like Lester Young's style in this. I feel like his sax playing has a distinct sound to it. Overall, this is really enjoyable jazz.
