Damn... I couldn't even finish it

These guys were great once upon a time
Where did the hooks go guys? This just sounds tired...
While Young the Giant have released a few enjoyable records, “Mirror Master” feels like a collection of bland, though beautifully produced, pop rock songs that even Sameer’s vocals can’t really save.

Fav Tracks: Superposition, Heat of the Summer, Mirror Master, Tightrope, Brother’s Keeper

Least Fav Tracks: Darkest Shade of Blue, You + I

Ahhhh.. I've been a fan of YTG for over a decade and have loved them more with every album.. except this one, and it really pains me to say that. There were only about 4 songs on the album that I actually like and care to listen to over and over again. I did enjoy the funkier sounds, especially with the guitars coming through. It's a great album. They're pushing their tone to another level. The hooks are more definitely there, it's a different format then people expect, I guess. Great songs. This album sounds like a band who wanted to have some extra fun with all that they've learned through the years.
