DAMN these 4 tracks go a long way! The songwriting is superb, I just need moooooorrree!
It sounds fine on the outside, but underneath it all, its one of the weaker collections of John Darnielle's work.
An interesting little EP. I didn’t love it as much as I loved March witch visions, mostly because at some points the slightly jazz influenced instrumentation seems confused. That combined with a not very compelling nerative makes the intro track my least favorite on the album. From there the EP picks up with a slow folky track that really showcases john darnielle and how he’s improving as a vocalist.
