I loved track one because of the understated drony almost ethereal sounds that felt very trippy and creepy like some hellish wind chime BUT they were then layered with harsher more in your face rype noise which created a gloriously vertiginous concoction of dichotomy that just keeps getting louder and louder and more intense and louder and LOUDER EACH ELEMENT INCREASING IN THEIR INTENSITY LIKE A WAR THAT GETS DEADLIER AND DEADLIER. I don't have high expectations for new Merzbow releases for obvious reasons, but this was a pretty decent album! Hatonal is full of screeching feedback and bleeps, and I think there could be some pigeon samples in this. Masami even managed to surprise me on Hatonal 1 Mix, when it turns just into these electronic sounds without all the noise for a while - not a mind-blowing moment or something, but still. Most bonus review of all time. Not really that notable but for how short it is and at least not being AI slop, I can give it credit. It's a bit generic but it's not as harsh as other Merzbow albums and it's a lot bloopier, feels a bit more playful. Wish it did more with the idea but it's a solid way to bounce back for the big Merz.
