While it's not as cohesive as Poppy.Computer, Am I a Girl? definitely isn't stale, and it succeeds at expanding Poppy's sound and identity enough to keep fans listening and guessing.

Am I a Girl? is an enjoyable enough club record, but it fails to add anything new to the conversation.

In all, Poppy’s album is disappointing. With only a few gems like “Chic Chick,” “Fashion After All” and “Time is Up,” the majority of the album features lyrically lazy and unappealing tracks that contribute nothing to the structure of the album.

A little bit all over the place, but the back half of this album gives us a taste of the masterpiece she followed this record up with.

I remember listening to Poppy’s “Am I A Girl” about a year ago and I thought this was a pretty fun pop-type album. I honestly did quite like a good handful of these songs, especially towards the end. However, there are moments where I feel like some parts throughout the LP can sound a bit repetitive, and some moments where it’s not really interesting. All that aside though , Play Destroy is such a banger.
