☆☆½ ~ I have some kind of ambivalence about the whole album concept. Lacks too much.
For fans of David Lynch's fucked up mind
This is the jazz release 2018 needed.

The duo of Angelo Badalamenti & David Lynch make up some of this year's most frightening avant-garde jazz. Things start off pretty normally as the first three songs are just instrumentals. They remain very interesting due to the layer upon layer of instrumentation on this album. Every time I listen to it I notice something new about the same instrument. Badalamenti & Lynch have teased at this album for while; I guess it was recorded decades ago. It certainly bears the influences of their film score collaborations and establishes what would become David Lynch's solo music sound. It is, however, a bit underwhelming for fans who've had so much time to imagine what kind of bizarre nightmare soundscape they'd dreamed up this time.
