Japamyu definitely takes Kyary's signature sounds into new territory and the result is mainly enjoyable, but only upon initial listen. It may be quite a fun and joyful album with a few solid songs, but more listens makes the record's redundant moments more apparent. Also, you start to realize how annoying this record can get given that it's the same ol' Kyary vocals and after four records, you simply wish there was something that clicked more.
Love this album!

New side to Kyary and much better than recent ‘Easta’
Probably Kiriko's best record to date and the only one where it seems like she was allowed to breathe and think about the songs she'd like to sing rather than the marathon that was her first three records. It's as saccharine, quirky, and eccentric as you'd expect and it is probably the most fun you'll have this year.
Just like with Perfume this year, Yasutaka Nakata has been on fire production wise and even Kyary Pamyu Pamyu benefits from his new found direction that allows this album to soar and be quite enjoyable, a first in her discography but hopefully not the last!
