[MY10 CHALLENGE: DAY 10]

Just gonna enjoy my last 100 on the list.

Normally, MewithoutYou fans would tell you Brother, Sister or Catch for Us the Foxes is their best record. I however, have never agreed with that sentiment. A to B Life is, in my eyes, one of the most emotionally raw, rough, and personally impactful post-hardcore albums of the 2000s. Aaron Weiss’ yells of passion have a very special way of getting under my skin, only matched by those such as Jordan Dreyer.

Pretty great stuff here, the only issue I've got is basically just a nitpick and that is the fucking shitty 5 minutes of silence or whatever before a hidden track starts during the last song, I hate that shit a lot in general. But yeah it didn't ruin the album nor lower my score since the hidden track itself was pretty great. not gonna front, this is pretty raw, and i probably enjoyed it more than needed; it’s heavy, although caution, they WiLL start screaming any second.

A to B Life is cryptic, vague-ish, and everything one might want from a band in 2002.

favorites : hidden track, ‘everything was beautiful and nothing hurt’, ‘(A)’, and ‘(B)’

Now I know that Christian music, more specifically CCM, isn't exactly known for their classic albums or revered bands. I mean do you think bands like Newsboys or Tenth Avenue North or freaking Third Day are gonna be releasing critically acclaimed ... read more

I’m going to start this review with a note: I have been working my way backwards through the mewithoutYou discography. I fell in love with their modern sound with ‘[Untitled]’, found myself captivated by ‘Pale Horses’ and ‘Brother, Sister’, and caught my feet tapping along to ‘It’s All Crazy!...’. So I figured it was time to grapple with their debut, and see the roots of this band.
