Their style of music would be a blend of elements of Jazz, Latin, R&B & Blues.

Last one aaaand its good, really good in fact. I'm not very familiar with this band and this is the first time I've ever listened to em but damn this is pretty good. A fantastic pop rock album by Steel Dan incoporating elements of progressive rock, Jazz and funk to create such melodic and playful listen with some witty lyrics and with some impressive guitar solos *Kid Charlemagne* and amazing keyboard work by the band. The Royal Scam is a beautifully layered and engaging body of work.

It isn't as repeatable as their first LP, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this record. The production was phenomenal. The instrumentation was stellar, and there were some cool composition standpoints there. The Fez was my favorite track because their is this chord progression that repeats a few times that just made me smile. The reason why it isn't as repeatable as their first LP is mostly because the tracks don't stand out as much as that record. However, I do think the album is more complete ... read more
