There is a sort of transcendent quality with Japanese folk, particularly with the work of Ichiko Aoba, this is stunning.

My original review of this was lazy and not thought out. Upon revisiting this album numerous times, the melodies and chord progressions really stick. Despite my original review claiming I would need lyrics to enjoy this, I find that to no longer be the case. The warmth and patience this album bestows is so comforting.
