Quite unexpectably, Bryan Ferry finally hits the golden vein of his retromania, covering songs from his back catalogue and giving to them the chance to live again in an old-fashioned but definitevly stylish environment, like the the one in the Babylon Berlin series, where he made his ultimate, bitter-sweet performance.
Back in ’99 Ferry released a covers album – As Time Goes By which focused on music from the 30s. Trademark Ferry intimacy flourishes throughout this recording, but, man, is it ever a hard swallow for this fan of Ferry’s! Flying to Seattle to see him live was a risky bet that it would be a good show. As it turns out it was a really good show. Why?
