A mixtape that has its rays of hope and opportunity, but are ultimately overshadowed by a handful of atrocities that scatter themselves throughout this project. The main idea that comes with this project is that of Chance’s upbringing into the fame that has now surrounded him compared to his past days. This is not Chance's best project, but it is a spectacular one from the then-17-year-old Chicagoan. The rhymes are refreshing, the beat selection if varied and fun, and the ability to craft really cohesive songs is appreciated.

From the blissfully familiar and relatable sounds of "Nostalgia" to the pumped-up party-fuel "Windows", Chance The Rapper just fucking breathes and sweats pure concentrated talent. And considering he, at the time, was just a nobody stoner in high school it is truly astonishing that he was able to pool his resources together to form a tape of this caliber.
