I notice Slowcore has been getting a lot more attention now on AOTY, a few months ago you could barely find a Slowcore album with 100 ratings. RHP is a legendary band in Slowcore, and while they're not my favorite, I still expected this to be good.

Moments is a favorite, Summer dress and San Geronimo, but over all one of the group's weakest LPs.
'Ocean Beach' shows the band with oiled gears, Kozelek's writing displays such powerful emotions. This is the best flowing RHD album by far, each song up-bars its precedent and a clear example of this is how 'Moments' is followed by 'Drop', closing the album on a great climax.
This record is where I noticed Kozelek’s greatest strength as a songwriter, his ability and drive to write lengthy songs that build on a central idea or theme, is also his greatest weakness when done poorly. The first two tracks on this album are both beautifully produced injections of pure Painters magic, with ‘Summer Dress’ probably being the best track of theirs since Rollercoaster.
