The introspective narrative may not be uncharted territory, but Dido chose these waters. She is unrivalled in navigating them with her disarming and melodic harmonies.

80
AllMusic

Two decades after her debut, Still on My Mind stands impressively strong, a late-era peak that is refreshing in its fearlessness and comforting with a familiarity that doesn't rest too heavily upon the past.

80
The Skinny

Still On My Mind sees Dido experiment with pop to dance to electronica in her most engaging album to date.

80
PopMatters

Still on My Mind is another rich outing for Dido in every way, with some truly awe-inspiring combinations of singer-songwriter radiance and novel sonic juxtapositions.

75
Consequence of Sound

With tales of leaving, longing, and loving her son, Still on My Mind is a warm bathtub full of power pop.

Pitchfork

The UK goddess of lite pop still sounds serene, unbothered, and preternaturally confident.

The Independent

There is no earworm melody as insistent as “White Flag” here, but melancholic opener “Hurricanes” and single “Give It Up” boast that same persistent emotion. And, of course, there’s that voice: steadfastly pure and mellifluous, just as it sounded 20 years ago.

The Observer

If you like its aggressive timidity, you’re in luck. There’s plenty here, level and featureless as a really good pavement; Ronseal pop, recorded on the sofa, a weak cup of tea within reach.

Dido has had some fantastic songs over the years but none of her albums has been as consistent. "Still on My Mind" delivers both great songs and an enjoyable album experience as well. Not as heavy as her previous albums and the production is a lot more varied. 'Hurricanes' is up there as one of my favorites from Dido so far and it works amazingly as an opener.

I am retroactively reviewing the albums which I listened to in March.

It has almost been 19 years since the release of Stan, and well over a decade since I listened any new Dido material. The English songwriter has made a recent comeback in the past few years, and now a new Dido release sits in my Spotify queue. Like encountering a distant childhood friend, I ask myself "What have they been up to lately, and how have they changed?".

For the most part, Dido still sounds like how she ... read more

Dido's themes have always been constant and perennial: the promise unfulfilled, the opportunity missed, the love squandered, the beauty unappreciated, the talent wasted. this applies as much to her as an artist as it does to the narratives of her songs. Still on My Mind is a Dido record in every respect. it has the possible underground dance hits in search of a remix, the near-miss top 40 unrequited love ballad, and the misty-eyed defiant fist pump song. in every way this is a fitting capstone ... read more
