Big Wows is shot through with glittery bounce and buzzing synth lines, each melody drowned out by anticipation of the next.
The reflection in their lyrics allows Big Wows' production to roam freely through worlds of pop and dance, anchored yet escapist.
This certainly isn’t the first album dedicated to the digital universe and it won’t be the last. But Big Wows provides its own relevant input to the conversation of its ever-evolving culture.
The resulting LP is a success in that it breaks new ground for the band, yet with all of its pop grandeur, Big Vow [sic] still leaves us feeling like the girls have yet to hit their true creative stride. Perhaps their best work is yet to come.
