im relatively familiar with malaysian artists and most of them have a very similar sort of vibe, voice and style of music but yuna stands out from them.
she's got that sweet indie girl voice (not like halsey. just no) but from the malaysian music industry, its different. basically one in a million.
growing up i religiously listened to nocturnal and then forgot. but im glad i could rediscover it because its very relaxing.

nocturnal is being rated a 77 because its not the 100 i used to think ... read more
This is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant records of this decade. Simply amazing, truly authentic.
I really appreciate the beginning of Nocturnal (Falling and Mountains). The middle of N isn't as good. The end is a few generic (I want You Back to Escape). I listen Deluxe edition, there is no really impressive songs.

The reason why I put 76 is because :

- there is some good moments
- Yuna's voice is great (but pretty boring because she tends to sing at the same ton during Nocturnal)
- The production is pretty good

Overall, it's a friendly pop album.
Formulaic pop all the more internationally radio friendly given this Malay's exotic appeal and mainstream approach to her musical styling. Frankly, upon repeated listens, Yuna's pop styling and remarkable voice has grown on me.
