A formidable debut that fits well for its time. But Editors are likely to be trapped in the shadows of their contemporaries and the indie rock/post-punk revival sound got saturated.

This is a really good debut. Had I rated it in 2005 when it first came out then I might've been more generous. I saw the Editors in a small venue and even bought a t-shirt from 2 of the band members who were staffing the merch table in those days. However as time has worn on I've listened to it very little since the first couple years after its release.
