Billboard
Tame punk-driven guitar licks may eclipse hard basslines, but familiarity is found in Wayne's willingness to be lyrically venturesome.

He really went ahead and did it: Lil Wayne finally releases his unlikely, unqualified, and quite unbelievable rock album.

Rebirth, on the other hand, is mired in trying to prove a point that no one was questioning to begin with. After the last three years, Lil Wayne can do whatever the hell he wants. “Can” and “should,” however, are two very different things.

This is just an awful fucking record, and way worse than Wayne fans, obnoxious as we can be, deserve.
