An under appreciated Elton John album especially within the wider context of music and is easily a fan favorite and one to show if "you are a true fan" whatever that means. Containing a lot of great songs, from the more well known Son fo Your Father, Burn Down The Mission to more deeper cuts likes Where to Now St. Peter, Tumbleweed Connection is a beautiful mix of pinao driven pop rock and roots rock for a mellow tying country themes nicely.

Bordering the classic status, 'Tumbleweed Connection' is an often forgotten Elton John masterpiece. Perhaps his first, it's full of melodic gems, only intensified by his keen pop sensibilities.

The one Elton John album that nobody talks about, and it's honestly surprising to me because this is one of his finest works from his early years in his career, and it contains some of his most underrated songs to date. I don't know about you, but "Country Comfort" almost makes me feel like wantin' to move to the countryside and settling down on a farm, Elton John is probably the only man to write a country song about farmlife, and not make it cringeworthy.

there’s something really loveable about this album, no big hits really, elton and bernie seem like they’re having fun, and it has “my father’s gun” which is one his best songs hands down

This is how you do a country album.

Florida Georgia Line, take notes.

Less dense and less varied project than his highly acclaimed albums yet it sounds so good and has some good narrations. My favourite song is my father's gun.

Very good album, its the first Elton John album I've heard and I was very impressed. Definitely listening to more Elton. It's also the first country album I've heard. And it gave a very good example. I am currently listening to the album and still think it's great. It has a clear concept and it was very well executed. The instrumentals were very nice and go excellent with Elton's voice.

This is a weird one for me. Digging deep into the roots of an Americana, country-piano-rock style is potentially interesting but maybe in retrospect feels bland. It felt at times like he's just singing lyrics off of a page, which is noticeably contrasted when he puts his heart into a song. I'm not sure if that's the right way to put it but something feels disengaging, and many of the songs sound the same. I wouldn't want to relisten to the full hour, but about half of the tracks are admittedly ... read more

His most underrated album and criminally so.

Similar to the previous record in many ways, but perhaps with fewer dynamic and standout tracks across the record. Elton continues to shine on both rock-heavy and pop-heavy instrumentation, but doesn't entirely diversify his sound vastly on Tumbleweed Connection. The addition of a western-theme was largely lost on me upon listening outside of the title of the record.

Favorite track: Love Song

This dude is fucking obsessed with guns and fathers. So much so you sometimes forget he's actually British.

Simple, does the right things, master showcase in songwriting nearly front to back. There's not much to dislike here. I already know this will keep growing on me. I'm looking forward to checking out more full project from Elting, because until now I'd only heard individual tracks.

A remarkably consistent loose concept album. The only real reason its not quite as recognizable as some of Elton John's more appreciated records is it doesn't have a huge hit on it. Still, its an album I can burn through without skipping a track. Its ends very strong with Burn Down the Mission, the album's strongest song.

A tribute to the wild west and its mythology so tied to the concept and so carefully described that, though an outsider, hits the target.
