Kinda underwhelming, I mean, I liked it but the singles set high expectations on me. After a few listens, I can say I still enjoy some funky songs on this, but judging them as a project, doesn't seem quite strong as I expected it to be.
Also, compared to Uyai, this doesn't seem as a Improvement, even with songs like Nyak Mien, Just Go Forward (Ka I So) this LP lacks of passion, and interest, specially in Basquiat or She Work Very Hard.
More a punk funk and electro clash than world music, I really love this. Funky grooves all over the place. Tight musicianship and exquisite vocals. I was fortunate enough to catch these live this year, what a danceathon!
I keep forgetting to review this because I don’t care to listen to this. The beats are fun, but the whole thing gets annoying quick, especially with the vocal inflections.
